The mother-daughter duo both donned green outfits, with Vivienne opting for a green suit ensemble and her famous mom stealing the show in a flowing velvet gown of sea-foam green.

The dress flaunted a draped, off-the-shoulder neckline, as well as intricate ruching across the bodice, and it should suffice to say it brought out every ounce of Angelina’s natural beauty.
The Tomb Raider star complemented her look with neutral makeup and a pair of gold hoop earrings. Vogue Magazine shared images and videos of Angelina and Vivienne on Instagram, labeling their red carpet presence “a united mother-daughter fashion moment that completely stole the show.”
Iconic fashion designer Donatella Versace also posted a picture of the pair from the event, offering a little piece of backstory as to Jolie’s dress’s origins.

“You look so beautiful. I love that you celebrate Atelier Versace craftsmanship,” Versace said. “This dress was created in 2013 and I remember you had huge creative input in the design… Artists supporting artists is so important!”
As is so often the case in the modern age, Angelina’s look was quickly dissected by people online, with fans split regarding her outfit.
“That is one of the most beautiful dresses I have ever seen,” one fan wrote.
A third opined: “She looks great & the dress is sitting just right. Def agree that darker hair would’ve really brought the look together!”
Sadly, there were others who were more critical of Jolie’s look.
“Angelina looks like a velvet drape curtain,” wrote one detractor on Instagram.
“That dress reminds me of old fashion curtains/drapes….ugh looks heavy,” said another.
A third said on Facebook: “Stylish? They look frumpy, both of them.”

Nevertheless, it was a good day for Jolie, who ended up bagging her first Tony for her work as a producer on the musical The Outsiders.
The production took home a total of four awards, including Outstanding Lighting Design, Outstanding Lighting Design of a Musical, Outstanding Sound Design of a Musical, and Best Direction of a Musical. 15-year-old Vivienne, meanwhile, earned recognition as a producer’s assistant for the musical.
